Kinstead Health
For nurse practitioners considering their options

Headway rents you patients. Kinstead helps you build a practice.

Your name. Your LLC. Your website. Your patients. $60 a month for the tech — the rest is yours to keep.

The difference, side by side

Two models. One lets you own what you build.

Both platforms handle credentialing and insurance billing. Here is where they diverge.

What this looks like

Your name on the sign. Your name on the LLC.

A Kinstead-supported practice is yours in every way that counts. You own it. Your patients are your patients. We handle the credentialing, billing, and back-office so you can run it.

The context

What changed at Headway in 2026

A pattern. Each move on its own is defensible. Together they tell providers who owns the relationship.

October 2026

A $9.99 per-session fee

Charged on every marketplace-sourced patient — for as long as you see them. Rolling out across VA, WA, GA, OH, IL, then nationally.

October 2026 · withdrawn

Rights to your name and likeness

A revised provider agreement claimed perpetual rights to clinicians' name, image, and voice. Pulled after providers revolted.

January 2025

Optum rate cuts, absorbed

A 29% drop on 90834 for some clinicians — passed through to providers, not the platform.

Mid 2026

Biometric verification required

Mandatory ID scans for providers and for psychiatric patients, through a third-party vendor.

Honest answers

What you’re actually asking

Can I use both services?

Yes. Nothing on the Kinstead side is exclusive — many nurse practitioners run both while they figure out which model fits.

What services do you offer?

Credentialing and insurance paneling, billing and claims, a branded website for your practice, and the EHR to run it. The operational layer behind a practice you own — not your clinical decisions.

What EHR do you use?

Our own — built specifically for nurse practitioners in outpatient practice. Not a therapy EHR with prescribing bolted on top, which is what Headway runs. Included with your $60 a month.
